Cricket Windies made truce with wicketkeeper-batsman Nicholas Pooran, after having suspended him at the start of the 2016-17 domestic season. Pooran had opted to play in the Bangladesh Premier League instead of featuring in Windies' Professional Premier League, despite being picked by a domestic franchise team.
An official release from the cricket board stated that the 21-year-old's suspension period has ended and he will now be eligible to play all three formats for the national side. Pooran featured in last month's President's XI clash against Afghanistan in St Kitts.
The statement also claimed that the two parties indulged in discussions to thrash out a solution. "The parties jointly state that following bilateral good faith discussions, they have decided to settle this matter amicably. The parties add that they are both committed to the development of West Indies Cricket at all levels and continue to have those interests uppermost in their minds," stated the official statement.

After being at loggerheads with some of its current best cricketers, Cricket West Indies seems to have decided to offer an olive branch to them. Chris Gayle was drafted in for the one-off T20I against India recently and expects a brighter future for the team that has been on a rapid decline recently. Darren Bravo too has been allowed to return after issuing an apology for his outburst against Dave Cameron, the president of CWI.
"Darren is a senior cricketer who has been a valuable part of the Windies set up for a long time, and I would hope to see his game continue to progress and mature, at both regional and international level," Cameron had said.
The official statement regarding Pooran return also mentioned that the parties reaffirm their commitment to moving forward and strengthening their relationship in the best interests of West Indies cricket.
